We Need a Martyr, Send Dick to Fallujah

Let's see now, Dick Cheney goes to Afghantistan, perhaps hoping to catalyze the same sort of military triumph there he and his cronies have engineered for Iraq, and like magic the effect takes hold immediately! A suicide bomber kills a score of people at the gate of the base where The Grand Chanus is uh...holed up. The Taliban (Remember them? We were gonna smoke 'em out about five years ago.) claims credit.

Anyway, apparently on some blogs some people said rude or tasteless things, expressed regret that the VP had not met his end at the hands of the Islamofascists. Now the Reich Wingosphere is aflame with outrage. How dare they speak so irreverently of Dick ("Go Fuck Yourself") Cheney?!
But I'm betting that, in their shrivelled little-dick-sized hearts, Karl Rove and George Bush are very very very sorry Dick didn't buy the farm in such a fashion. What a diversion that would have been! What fuel for the jingo outrage so necessary to their impunity! Plus, they could have made Dick the author of everything unpopular about the junta, and so might have escaped some blame. Alas, Dick knows where all the bodies are buried and he's a bad man to cross, so there's no throwing him under the bus. At least not while he's alive.

I'm about convinced now that the fans of this administration are strong evidence of huge numbers of people who are ethically infantile, incapable of empathy or of critical self-consciousness. They literally have no shame. Dick Cheney and his partners are largely responsible, through their misdirections, derelictions, and deceptions, for the needless deaths of the thousands who died on 9/11, and the literally countless thousands of dead in Iraq, not to mention for the introduction of torture as part of American public policy, the abrogation of the Bill of Rights, inummerable defraudings of the taxpayer and assualts on the environment, and yet the people on the Right reserve their outrage for people with the bad taste to publicly express their quite reasonable and heartfelt loathing of the man.
