Immunity for Joe Lieberman is prima facie proof that the Democrats can't even stand up for their own brand, that Harry Reid, et al.. care about nothing but their own power. They're going to press one of the most deservedly hated men in America to their breast, and then they're going to act all surprised when this desperately cynical and cowardly betrayal of their supporters boomerangs.
