Fascinoma

For all the talk about building a permanent Republican majority, Dubya and Dick seem to have handled their tenure more like a crime spree than a planned campaign. Indeed, just as with the war there seems to have been the bare minimum of planning or consideration of consequences. It's more a matter of "Just keep moving; no going back."

In the aftermath of 9/11 the American narrative was more Memento than Pearl Harbor, but in the second term, it seems to have been less the Godfather than Thelma and Louise. We might wonder who the dumb one is, but then again we don't really have to.
